Quote guess who="guess who"Today the club were represented in court to contest the winding up petition that HMRC have lodged. The petition has been adjourned until the 27th January. The club have applied to put Keighley Cougars (2001) Ltd in to administration and this will be heard in court on the 18th December. Cougars General Manager Helen Carter said ‘We are still exploring every avenue available to us but we need to take precautions to safeguard the future of the club. =#FF0000I feel confident that the club will continue to strive for success both on and off the field.’'"
I think in that one sentence lies the problem.
We should be striving for stability, not success.
Looking at the bigger picture, the success is of Keighley Cougars is, and always should have been, measured it's long term survival.
If there are any new directors on board all I would say to them is your job is not to bring trophies to Cougar Park (although it would be nice) it is primarily to be guardians of the club and to preserve it for the future.
