| Too small.
I would much prefer someone like Richards at FB. Able to take the high bombs and return the ball safely.
ST may be a more attacking option but I prefer safety at FB.

| Disagree entirely. Think tonight showed me he can be a fantastic fullback. Put his body on the line time and time again, last line of defence was quality imo, read the game very well and shepherded a few kicks into touch.
A mistake late in the game after being targetted by thugs all evening is not bad going!

| I don't think he's too small at all. Considering he was clearly targeted all game I thought he did well. It just wasn't the conditions for his attacking flair to shine. It made me smile when Brian Noble said the conditions would probably suit Wigan

| Each to their own, but imo it's not his best position (and I admit I have changed my mind on this), and imo there are better options for that position.

| He gets more involved at fullback than he seems to do when in the halves and he has the courage needed for a fullback, not to mention the rugby brain. I thought he looked quite good there.

| couldnt disagree more. i was just laughing at all the posts people made before they had ever seen sam play FB, saying how he would be awful there, and how much of a mistake it would be, it would ruin him and so on.
In my opinion, he has been as good, if not better at FB, being able to come into the attack in a wider position, and when he wants to.

He dwarves many top fullbacks, Billy Slater makes him look like a giant!
When it came to taking the high balls I though Sam was fantastic tonight.
Richards is awesome under the high ball too but lacks the creativity at 1 that Tomkins and Roberts have.
The dropped ball was very little to do with his physical stature it was a great tackle from Burrows to hit right under the ball carrying arm, in those conditions very tough for him to hold on to it.
A work in progress but still has great potential.
Would prefer to see him at 1 next year if we can sign a specialist 9 to replace Piggy.

| Tomkins was fantastic under the high kicks tonight and he has done well defensively so far at full back. The aspect of his play that I dont like is that for me he isnt creative enough at full back. He seems to chime into the line but nearly always goes himself, even when overlaps are on, and doesnt set things up outside him in the way that Roberts does. If he varied his game more in attack he would be much better.

| Tremendous player. Patrolling the goal line, made me think of Radlinski and I am sure that Kris will have been coaching him. Lets just count our blessings that we have a home grown player of his calibre

| Sam was superb at Full Back tonight (ignoring the dropped ball which is just one of those things).
He was solid in defence all night, and did well to still be on the field such was the treatment he received from Ablett and Bailey.
He loses no freedom in attack or creativity at 1 either.

Shaun Edwards was a a substitute full back before half back, if you'd like to draw that comparison
