| Like I said on the other thread, Senior and JJB definately missed 7 tackles, although I also pointed out there would be an interpretation issue, which I can accept.
Take your point about Eastwoods defence, although I am sure he made more than 5 tackles. Personally did not have him down for man of match anyway though, although not relevant.
I dissagree with you on the McGuire try assist. It was a great pass from McShane, but that try still took a hell of a lot of scoring from McGuire.

| Quote tvoc="tvoc"One thing that I note from the above is that the Sky MOTM award wasn't thanks to a big defensive effort.
'" Another poster and I raised our eyebrows that he got that award as we watched the game in the pub. We both thought Peacock and these stats certainly bear out what i thought was a monumental display.
Peacock: 178 - 26 (6.85) - 37 - 2 (95%) - 1 - 1
Quote tvocNothing for Paul McShane (Danny McGuire try) - unlucky to miss out on one after a great pass. '" I'd have certainly rewarded McShane for that but the try was really created, and here is an area where Stats do not reflect what happened, by the speed of JJBs play the ball. A high spot in an otherwise poor afternoon for Jamie IMO.

You're not really disagreeing as although I said he was unlucky I didn't really expect him to receive the assist now that Opta have tightened up the criteria again. Earlier in the season it would have stood a better chance.
It's a problem I have with the Assist stat generally, given that a quality ball like McShane gave goes unrewarded (a similar effort from Eastwood at Odsal suffered likewise) yet any form of kick no matter how shady is automatically rewarded.

I am firmly of the opinion that JJB does far too much work. It was highlighted a lot yesterday. The guy gets through a mountain of work, shows a lot of enthusiasm, but tends to mucky it with mistakes.
IMO his fellow players should take some of the load off, and try and channell JJB's effort better. It's for the coach to get hold of though, and I am not sure wether it would help the team or not, just him personally.

Good showing for Buderus too.
Some on here will no doubt complain though

| Stats clearly show JP had a very good game, even though I feel they still don't do him justice. The track back on MM was absolutely superb, add that to the play he came up with in the QF. The bloke just keeps going and works his nuts off for the players around him.
JJB looks to be trying too hard to make things happen. Sometimes all the effort in the world can be put in but the plays may just not come off. Maybe a lower workload would see him cut out the errors. I thought he'd made more than 2 missed tackles in the first half too, as I said a poster on here.
Shows an improvement from Bailey going forward, thought he was very good yesterday and right from minute one it became obvious they were going to target him but a little bit of footwork got him out of trouble on a few occasions. Then he was dominated in the tackle and came up with a pretty good offload that we made a few more metres on the back of.
