by that i mean in ten years time will people just say he was a good kicker but not a special player because the aussies dont credit him? or he was a decent player in a good team?

He's a legendary player in a legendary team. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks about that.

I've watched him week in week out since his debut and he is a Leeds legend, a world class kicker and a world class leader/captain

I've said on southstander he's up there with Billy Bremner and as a Leeds Utd fan there really is no higher praise.

Sinfield impresses at all levels: What a player, what an intellect, what a man.

I know he stands no chance in this year of all years for sports personality of the year but for me he's on a par with the more publicised achievers.

I'm not sure simply because Lewis Jones has such legendary status at Leeds. But I'm looking forward to the day when I'm old enough to wear a flat cap, walk with a stick that I don't really need, swear at people and no one minds, and mutter about the Leeds first team at the time as a shower not being good enough to lace Kev Sinfields boots.

A great Pro with a great kicking game but i don't think he is a special player.

He isn't a great individual in the sense of an Ellery Hanley, but as a leader of players he is pretty exceptional.

I think he lifts them from being a very ordinary group of players into the champions that they are.

I'd mostly agree but ordinary is way OTT (eg Peacock?!!) - he lifts them from a good side to a great side.
